every set, passed on
The DJ sets, live sets and mixes artists release are scattered across the services you listen on, and each one's search only covers itself. tapetree gathers the sets artists officially release onto one page per artist, with every service you can hear each one on. What it doesn't find, listeners pass on.

how it works
Straight from the artist
Where the services allow it, tapetree watches the accounts of artists, their labels and the partners who film and air their sets, and lists each new set as it's released. Only official releases count: no rips, no re-uploads. Each one is checked against MusicBrainz, the open music encyclopedia, so it's credited to the right artist.
Shared at once
Listeners pass on what's missing, and can share it straight away. It goes on the tree once tapetree has confirmed it's from an official account.
Wherever you listen
Each set shows the services it's on and opens on the one you pick. Plays go to the artist's own upload.
why the name
In the 1990s, fans organised on newsgroups and mailing lists to copy recordings of live shows and pass them on, person to person. They called it a tape tree. tapetree keeps the passing on and leaves the tapes behind.
